11th ANNUAL WITCHES’ GATHERING

Nightmares: That Which Haunts Us Through The Night

Barrymore’s Music Hall

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Theme:

Every year the Witches Gathering revolves around a specific theme.

This year’s theme is:

‘Nightmares: That Which Haunts Us Through The Night.’

There have always been things that go bump in the night…

Unsettling things glimpsed just out of the corner of the eye, unexplainable sounds in the darkness. Our imaginations populate the unknown with ghoulish creatures cooked up from the deepest corners of our own subconscious. During the day, it is easy to scoff at our fears and take comfort in science and rationality.

But in the dead of night… we are far less comforted.

Just as the day balances the night, so too do our subconscious minds balance our conscious selves.

Our subconscious can speak to us through our dreams and through our nightmares, forcing us to confront the hidden fears and darker aspects of our own personalities.

We invite attendees to think about how they would like to explore their own personal nightmares or other popular nightmare themes in their costuming at this year’s event.
